Copal has been used in many indigenous cultures throughout Mexico and Central and South America for thousands of years. It is traditionally used in ceremony for energetic protection, prayer, offering, cleansing and purification, and transmuting negative energy into positive, creative energy. It is still very popular today and is used for many other purposes, including smudging, aiding in deeper meditation, and assisting positive intentions into reality. Copal has a complex rich and sweet, piney smell that is very thick, warming, and comforting. Copal emanates a very familiar energy that is known to calm and spiritually prepare individuals, like the precious Sage plant used in Native American culture. Its resin is the sap harvested from a variety of trees, sometimes hundreds of years old. Our Copal is sustainably wild-harvested from southern Mexico.
Each package contains 1 ounce of Mayan Copal Resin and 1 natural coconut incense charcoal. Directions for burning on underside of packaging.
To burn our Sacred Tree Resins, place a Natural Coconut Charcoal (included) directly onto an electric burner. Turn the burner on high until red-hot. After 30 seconds, use metal tongs to flip the charcoal. After another 30 seconds, or until charcoal is red-hot, use metal tongs to remove the charcoal from the burner and place it onto a non-flammable metal, stone, or glass burning surface. Turn off the electric stove. Sprinkle small granules of resin onto the charcoal and enjoy some of the oldest incense used in the World.
